    [​IMG] Well, every time I restart the computer, the known extensions are back again (.mp3; .wav; .jpg; etc.) Even I check the box in the preferences asking to hide them, they are back again over and over; is annoying because I'm often change files names and sometimes I forget to put the extension so the file is useless if saved without the right extension.
    I mean, why the box is unchecked again by itself?
    Windows XP home edition; Office 2003; MS NET Framework; the usual things, no spyware, no virus found.

    Any ideas?

    It might be a buit in feature in your virus scanner. By showing the full extension, you won't accidentally open a file named Picture.jpg.exe that's really a virus. :thumb:

    That's where I would start looking anyway... :rolling:

    That's not the point.

    My point was, one of his programs might be forcing the file extensions to be displayed so a situation like that wouldn't happen. :thumb: :rolling:
