How can I turn off the lightning strikes that hit my PCs? Natural lightning, not Call Lightning. :)

Do you mean that like wandering around and get zapped with random lightening coming out of the sky?

Yes. Is that turn-off-able under the weather thingy (whatever you call it) so you don't see rain and snow?

I would have to geuss that turning of the weather would work. I have never been hit with random lightening, perhaps you have angered the BG gods. If turning off the weather doesn't work and it really bothers you, you could always make your players immune to lightening with gatekeeper but that would change the dynamic of the game as BG uses lightening traps alot.

Doh! Nevermind, just checked and you can't do it with GK, but it can be done with SK.

Yes it's weather, but I've never had it damage my characters so I leave it on.
Yes you can: electricity resistance (also known as Boots of Grounding times two).

I only meant that it wasn't an option like it is in SK. Wasn't thinking of items. As always I defer to your infinite wisdom and knowledge, and bow in humble contrition. All hail the kitty, for he is all knowing (at least he has been able to answer all of my questions anyways)

Haha, just swap out your platemail or other metal armors with leather armors when you are travelling outdoors in the rain. And seriouslly, would YOU have liked to travel with 20-40kg of metal plates in the rain ?

I've been hit with the random lightning and it does no damage that I can recall. Prehaps very small amount like 1-2 HP.

No, it doesn't do any damage, just annoying a bit. I have auto-pause when hit active. I'll live with it since I like seeing the snow in the Cloudpeaks.

The natural lighting only hurts characters who are equipped with non-magical metal armor. Minsc and Jaheria both get hit by lighting a lot in my group and require healing. Abdel and Viconcia who have magical armors do get hit by the lighting but do not receive damage.

    Hello -

I certainly sympathize with your desire -- I play with headphones on and when I get hit by lightning it scares the you-know-what out of me.

It happened last night as my M/T was stalking a hamadryad in the Cloakwood (with aggressive intent), and I suddenly got blasted. I have to say that one was very appropriate -- mess with the minions of nature, and nature will mess with you! :)
