I came across this website which is a UK based company who import American food/drink. I'm placed a little order for a few little bits and bobs (like, Lucky Charms and Baby Ruth, which I've always wanted to try), but I wonder if there's any 'hidden gems' on there that the Americans on here will go 'You must try that!'

Have a quick look and see if you can recommend owt :).

Definitely not cheap, but I guess they have to spread the import cost somewhere. The P&P is reasonable though mate.

Jolt Cola is THE REAL DEAL. Soda and energy drink meet, tastes good and packs quite a punch.

Twinkies - The "Jack Daniels" of junk food. We have them around here quite a bit. But I'm not sure what they make them out of though...I'd be afraid to find out anyway. We usually have a stock of Ho Hos as well.

Lucky Charms - We have those often as well, but the kids eat the "charms" and leave the cereal, even my two-year old. I prefer Captn' Crunch - that's some real junk food there. And we always have Life cereal in the house because my wife likes it. ;)

BBQ sauce - Cattlemen's, great stuff, especially "Memphis Sweet," if you can get it. But leave some chicken or chops sit in a pan of it overnight in the fridge, to really get the flavor into the meat.

Well, I find Reese's peanut butter cups to be addicting.

For pure sugar, Skittles are equally great, but your teeth will hurt.

I also have a personal weakness for frosted brown sugar/cinnamon pop tarts.

I think the entire nutritional value of everything on that website added up is less than a single serving of green salad, but you can see what demographic they are aiming at . . .

Oh, yes, the girls were on a kick for the Choclate Fudge Pop Tarts (or whatever it is they use for chocolate) for a while. But not lately. Right now, Breyer's "Snickers" ice cream is the rage. But you are certainly right, DMC, cardboard probably has more nutrition than most of this stuff. I make sure everyone in the house has plenty of fresh produce to make up for all the junk we have stashed about.

At the moment my stash is Milky Way and Snickers bars (the jumbos, none of this "mini bar" stuff). :)

Lucky Charms? I think you'll be surprised.

If you want to try a sweet cereal and like peanut butter, you gotta try Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter or Reeses Puffs.

I'm a fan of Jolly Ranchers (my favorite flavors are Cherry and Watermellon), Reese's, Reese's Pieces, Mr. Goodbar, Butterfinger, Kit-Kat, Skittles (the red bag)...If I were you, I'd try the assortment pack. Altoids are very powerful mints...I like them on occasion, but I usually buy them for the case which is perfect for electronic circuits.
I hate Oreo's and Twinkies. :nolike:

As for drinks, Barq's Root Beer, Hawaiian Punch, and of course...Mt. Dew!

For food...I have a bowl of Cap'n Crunch, Froot Loops, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch for breakfast every morning and most evenings. I love all three. They go best with ice cold 1% milk. :yum: Ranch dressing (salads) and A1 (any type of red meat) are two of America's favorite sauces/dressings. Premium Saltine Crackers are awesome. Break 'em up into soup, or put a slice of Colby-Jack cheese between them and you've got a taste of heaven. Mac 'n Cheese....I grew up on this stuff (because I was easy for a kid to make)...in my family, it's known as "Yellow Death". It's kind of like Rammen...it's not bad, but it's not great....but it *is* quick and easy. I like Cheetos Puffs...they're a tasty snack.

If you guys don't have Mentos there....you need to buy a pack! Get a 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke and drill a hole the top of the cap. Tie a small string around the mentos, and feed a few inches of it thru the cap (so the Mentos is now firmly against the backside of the lid). Close the lid and drop the Mentos into the Coke. What happens?

    This happens:

That's all I can recommend from that site.

    That's some good stuff. :yum:

It's "OK," but not a big fan of A1. Lea & Perrins is way better, IMHO. Just had some tonight. But to each his own, Kit. ;)

If skittles are the cocaine of candies, Jolly Ranchers are crack cocaine, itself on crack cocaine! I'll down a whole bag of skittles in a few gulps and want more, but a few Jolly Ranchers will turn my taste buds numb!

Jolt Cola! Wow, haven't seen that for a while. It's about 90% sugar, maybe 5% cola water, and 5% caffeine. It and Surge were some of the first 'energy sodas'.

A&W Root Beer is delicious, though Barq's is a strong challenger. I don't know if you have root beer in the UK or not, but it's good either way. Note, it's not actually a beer... usually.

Old Bay is actually a very good cooking seasoning for chicken or fish. It's not a regular in my cuisine, but it definitely holds a place in my spice cabinet.

I would be wary of anything 'chocolate' coming from the US. There's a strict definition of what 'chocolate' is in the US (thanks to the FDA), and it may surprise you.

Goldfish (Gold Fish as presented in their menu! It's Goldfish! One word! You can even see it on the box!) are pretty much the best cheese cracker ever made, IMHO. They make a fascinating pretzel version as well, if you can find it anywhere.

Nerds are GREAT! Not only can you brag about eating your own kind (if you call yourself a nerd, at least), but they're also pure flavored sugar in small, easily dissolved in saliva. There are few faster ways to a sugar high.

Altoids are powerful mints. I love them, but many people struggle to take just one. They're quite powdery, but come in a very nice tin.

Quite a find, all in all.

Surge... damn, does THAT bring back memories! Remember the abysmal failure known as Pepsi Crystal? Or the New Coke FIASCO...

I also have a fondness for the Bottle Caps candy. Runts, too, whoop some serious ass.

Skittles are awesome. I eat them one by one, alternating between the flavors. Awesome experience everytime. I prefer the Tropical flavored Skittles... or the Blue bag.

One more thing about Jolt: if you can get any of the other flavors like Jolt Blue, Cherry Bomb :yum:, Wild Grape, Orange Blast, Ultra or Silver, they're all good. Blue has a blue raspberry flavor, Cherry Bomb is reminescent of Dr. Pepper, Ultra is citrus-ish, and Silver tastes like Sprite on steroids.

John Lea and William Perrins were chemists from Worcester that invented Worcestershire sauce in 1837. About as English as you can get (other than that Lea & Perrins is now owned by Heinz).

Looking at this, we get some of the same stuff (Skittles, KitKats, Reese). One thing that can be said for the Americans: what they lack in style they make up in suger :p
