    Guys, I've been a gibbon.

My PC is made up of 2 partitions, 1 for Windows and a few games/apps, the other main chunk is for storage, media etc.

Now, having read about how good Ubuntu is, I decided to give it a go and install it. As I wanted to keep Windows in case things went **** up, I installed it to my 'storage' partition. Unfortunately, what this has done has removed that partition out of Windows, so I can no longer see it. I don't know if this is expected behaviour, or something has gone wrong. But having decided I don't like Ubuntu, I really want my main chunk of HD space back! Has anyone got any tips for salvaging this situation? I really don't fancy formatting everything...

Any advise the techies can give would be great.

So how important was the data in your storage partition? Most of it is gone now.

    *snip*

Oh wait  I missed the part where you said you didn't like Ubuntu and wanted to go back. Err, I think you will have to reformat that partition (and only that partition.) There are some tools for that, but I don't remember which ones. Sorry :heh:

Windows' own drive management tool should do the job which you can find in the control panel - admin tools section.

My friend, I believe you might be a genius. I never even thought of using that, you've saved me a major headache. I've lost all the data on that partition, but it's not a big deal really - in a few nights leaving the PC on I'll have most of it back.

    Good man!
