    STR 18 (for carrying stuff)
    DEX 18
CON 15-16 (you can get the book of CON pretty early, but it's still your call)
    INT 18
WIS (doesn't matter in BG1; use it as a dump stat)
CHA 16-18 (Algernon's cloak; again your call)

Weapons are a little bit trickier since the M/T only has one weapon slot, but I'd go with a bow. In BG1 you don't have to worry about the AC penalty for using a missile weapon in melee combat that shows up in BG2, so if it really gets down to it you can just shoot point-blank.

Stealth is definitely your friend. Hurl a Fireball or Cloudkill and stealth. Instant weakening of your enemies with no repercussions. If you're good with the space bar, you can also shoot at someone from extreme range and run away to stealth before they can catch up to you. Repeat as necessary.

the only difference from Felinoid's is IMO cha 17 cuz cloak should be balduran's not algernon's and u'll make it 18 with a tome by the time you get the cloak. (early on yes algernon's is key, as charm's gona be ur best friend)... thieving skills, is kinda tricky cuz you have to make tradeoffs... but since ur solo I'd say stealth is ur primary, cuz fighting all the weaklings is pointless, and it's good for scouting (and cheese if u desire)... a bit into traps and locks.. and to steal algernon's cloak use potions of perception, they stack, I doubt u'll have to steal anything else as gold will be abundant...
    definitely bow.

Get a gnome for the extra spells and saving throws.
Set wisdom as low as possible, con 16-18 and max out the rest.
    Weapon profs: longsword and bow

    @kmonster:
You don't get any bonuses for CON over 16 unless you're a warrior.

Gnomes get +1 saving throw bonus vs. magic and wands for each 3.5 points of constitution.
So having 18 instead of 16 con helps.

So does having 21, but it's not something I would bother with at other stats' expense. 18+18+16+18+3+17= 90, and if you put WIS up to ten to avoid the hefty Lore penalty, it's even more. Also, one of the best parts of soloing is avoidance; you shouldn't have to worry about saving throws anyway.

First get a bow and kill Drizzt!
You should get a couple of levels so that at the beginning should not be that hard to kill monsters.
Sell his armor and weapons and buy some reputation(if you are good) and items(scrolls, potions etc..)

Fully possible, you never hit him on anything but criticals anyways even on high level. so not really much of a difference. Just stock up on those arrows, set path finding to the lowest posible. and go hire garric with a potion of speed to lure Drizzt into the right place. Happy fishing...

or slightly less cheese find several monster summoning wands and surround and shoot. takes a while and leaves a LOT of dead bodies but it is fun.

The wand summoning works best with a party, as you have 3-4 to shoot (way bigger chance to roll that 20), and 1-2 to continually summon monsters. The advantage of the "fishing" is that with pathfinding on the lowest posible, Drizzt will gracefully stand at the edge of the lake and lok at you as you plan that arrow in hes eye for the 143'th time before he falls down. :)

ya but that iis so cheesy it pains me even to think about it :) . However I do agree that this would work better with a large party but so does many things that I plan out so I guess I should really start thinking like a solo act.

Hey, hey, hey! Killing Mr D., doesn't need any setting of pathfindings!

With a level1/1 M/T, you need those boots of stealth. You can pick them up on your way to Drizzt. Oh yeah, and allocate your skill points in hiding.

Get a quarterstaff for the reach. You'll need it. or you might want to pack that bow and arrows, they work as well, since you have no backstab bonus.

You need only one oil of speed, get it from Monty, or Imoen.

When you get to Drizzt drink the oil of speed, then make him mad, either by talking, or attacking him while he's butchering the gnolls.

Run to the abandoned house in the north, by the pond. Use the south end of the house.

After that: Hit and hide behind a corner. Save after every successful hit&hide! If he creams you, reload! Do this a hundred times, at least!

You need to be quick with pause. Most of the time , Drizzt won't even notice you poking his back with your staff. He's fast with his feet, but too slow with his wits. He might turn, but if you're fast enough, you'll get behind the corner and hide in the shadows. Remember that even if you'd see him on your screen, he might not see your character, try to figure out what's the line of sight regarding your positioning.

Ok, this is cheesy too, but even Drizzt won't see a sneaker in the shadows. So it's more realistic than getting him on that island and shooting arrows at him.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record with this one, aren't I.

I did not think there was any reach in BG1 on quartherstaffs, or any other melee weapon ?

Well, compared to a dagger, there is.

Usually with a dagger the character gets real close to the intended victim and then stabs. With a quarterstaff, you can swing from a little farther away.

Then you have to take only two steps sideways, and you're safe 'round the corner.

Staves, halberds, spears and 2-handed swords are all 'reach' weapons. It can be seen easier by having someone with said weapon(s) stand behind another party member and hit the enemy.

Alright guys, the game is going okay so far, i'm making use of the Sleep spell... Lots.

Any suggestions on what equipment to give him? Mainly what bracers and rings I should aim to have by the end?
