[IMG] I have a 6th level Mage. Her spell book is empty except for first level spells. How can I get higher level spell in her book?
    TIA

A 6th level mage should be able to cast 4 spells of level 1, 2 of level 2 and 2 of level 3.
These numbers can be a bit higher if you have the right magic items (necklaces and rings) that allow you to learn more spells. Specialised mages get one extra slot in the mage book.
If you have slots in the book, but they are empty than you will have to write some magic into your book to be able to fill them. This can be done by right-clicking a scroll in the inventory of the mage.

I thank you for that info. It seems as though the spell book should be updated automatically when your mage advances. I have a Cleric who is at level 5 and his scroll book gets automatically updated as he increases in level.

Yes, clerics do not have to write magic in their book. They just gain the ability to cast new spells when they advance. The upside is you don't have to write anything in the book, the downside is you don't get to choose which spells you want.
