    Could this possibly give the climate change skeptics pause for thought?

    The arctic perennial ice (i.e. not seasonal but semi-permanent) declined by 14% during 2004:2005, compared to an average of 0.7% a year for the last few decades.

    It promises to be a rough ride for your children folks.

    Oh, and the research is by NASA in case anyone is wondering.

    I don't think anyone denies that the Earth is warming. What some dispute is that Humans are the major cause of it.

    The climate will warm, the polar caps will melt, the sea-levels will rise, the deserts will expands, the forests will shrink, and the number of species will plummet. Resistance is futile. :borg:

    Just better accept it, since the politicians have shown have powerless they are. Everyone can guess what the results will be, but I think that they are pretty obvious in the shadow of current events: people in the equator will start migrating towards northern countries (EU/US/Asia) and the number of floods/hurricanes certainly won't be decreasing.

    Ever seen The Day After Tomorrow? It'll be like that, but over a couple hundred years.

    Maybe studies like this will boost awareness in political circles. Maybe someone who gets into power will do something.
