hi all. My opinion about Bioware and Multiplayer was that it has never been a great combination. In NWN, I hope that will be better, it should be necessary for ALFA etc. So I was wondering if people here already multiplayed this game, and if it all works fine.

A second question: Is there like in BG and BG2 also the option to play a multiplayer party on your own, so you can play a party of more than one character on your own?

No, the game isn't set up to have you directly control more than one person.

You could do that if you surrounded yourself with multiple computers hooked up to a network, each with their own copy of NWN on it. Rather expensive, but possible ;)

You cannot play with more than one character ever. Well, except for a henchmen, familiar, summmoned and/or charmed/dominated creatures. But you can't totally control them.

Well, already thought so.... BTA, it would be a rather difficult way. At least you have to use the pause button then, else you really have to run quick between the pc's :)

So anyone already played it online?

Yeah, I played it online for a bit last night with a friend in chapter one. It was...well, it went ok I guess. Was slower for me, I can only guess because of my dialup. It experienced some drag but nothing too bad I don't suppose. Otherwise, for me at least, it was actually kinda strange playing with other actual people online. I found it hard to talk to them for one. I'm sure there's a hot key that would make it easier, but having to click on the talk line or their portrait every time made it difficult to play and converse. Plus it seemed like I was taking up alot of time with some of the more long winded conversations of NWN (which most are) while my partner was just sitting there waiting.

But anyway, it for the most part played as it was supposed to I suppose. Not much different from the single player game. Either way, so far, I'm not to enchanted with the game.

Crawl, the coversation thing takes indeed somme time, I discovered that while playing BG2 online. Best is to play the game in Single Player first so you know hat is in the conversation so you don't have to read it all again. Talking in BG2 could just with the Return button, there indeed has to be an easier way then clicking on a portrait.

So what makes the game not very good for you?

Best is to play multi with some voice-over-net software like roger wilco or teamsound. That's what we did with BG2 and pretty much any multiplayer game. It's really hard to type everything you want to say..
I get NWN on friday.. damn I cant wait :(

I know this will sound wierd, but I really don't know what it is about this game that just isn't clicking with me. Maybe it's the interface, or the flat graphics. Both are bothering me to a degree. To be honest, I'm unsure what's the problem with NWN for me. I'm hoping I'll come around, because there are lots of things to like about this game.

Anyway, hopefully I'll try out some custome modules designed for multiplayer in mind. Don't get me wrong, I love the dialog. Very big breath of fresh air from some of the things I've bene playing. The game just seems to have a pooly thought out system of conversing with npc's in multiplayer. And there really needs to be a hot key to bring you to the dialog box or something, at least for serwide shouts. Heh, now if someone knows how to do it, please share ;)

Crawl, just check the Key-settings. You should be able to change them somewhere, and there you can also see what the hotkey for dialogue is. Maybe the T?
