I had a two person party; one cleric-would be dualled into mage at level 14; and one standart fighter. The start of the game was hard but as ı gained levels I was suprised it just became easier. I hit lvl14 with my cleric; dualled into a conjurer; dumped fighter for a while; (exporting) took all quest and monster XP; reached lvl 15; and he became hugely powerful; I thought he might solo! Though I took the fighter just for convenience. I gained lots of XP; and in the end he was lvl14 cleric lvl18 mage; my fighter was lvl20+ or something. We beat Belhifet without trouble.

Unfourtunately I don't have HoF; but it was fun regardless! My cleric/mage was immensely powerful; and I had much fun building him! My favourtie build in BG2 too!

Now; I am starting all again; this time two person; one bard and one cleric/ranger(MC). I think they are pretty rounded up. Has mage and ALL divine spells; decent fighter and ranged attacker; and bard did a little pickpocketing spree in Kuldahar with very good results! My cleric/ranger is awesome; he has 18/00 STR (believe me I did not cheat! Just plain lucky!); two ** in maces and flails; and without a shield, he has 2+1/2 atacks per round right at the beginning! Poor; poor goblins, he slaughtered them like nothing! 5 goblins in 2 rounds! :)

Now I am in Kreselack's tomb, and a little bit troubled. It comes harder than the last time; my cleric levels are not great for turning; bard has so few spells and relatively weak; and I am having difficulties. What do you think? Can I beat the game with these two like I did before? Do you have any ideas to help?

Please share them with me; IWD is such a great game!

What version of IWD do you have ?
I guess you have installed IWD without HoW and an XP cap remover.

It is not very difficult to roll a ranger with 18/00 strength and 18 in every other important stat because you can ignore int and cha. Natural 18/00 str isn't needed anyway since your bard can cast strength.

I think you can beat the game with your pair, each one of them is able to solo the game imho.

If the K's tomb is too difficult for you, you can level up pretty fast by killing the respawning lesser shadows (300 XP each) south of it or fighting skeletons in the southeastern tomb.

The game would be easier if your r/c had ** in sling. I would have both your ranger and bard cast their protection from evil versions on both of them before hard battles. +4 AC and +4 all saving throws helps a lot.

Summons are great. Skeletons and beetles stay very long and can even be healed.

If you cast entangle or web twice in a row most undead won't be able to move and you can shoot them.

You can use the invisbility or sanctuary spell to start fights on your terms or avoid them totally.

Sounds like a challenge, but you should be able to do it, the bard is great to play :)
IMO Heart of Winter is worth getting ;)

    Edit: I can't seem to spell :(

Well I do not have HoF; but thanks to Sorcerer's place; I have XP cap remover (lvl40) and the patch that allows lvl 8-9 spells to be cast. Friends of powergamers these are! :thumb:

I am now in Dragon's eye and doing OK. I got the bardic item of Lyre of Progression; extra spells really help!

Thanks kmonster; that was sound advice! I will give ** in missile weapons (slings) to my C/R he has * right now. But he is absolutely better than my previous fighter in melee!

Bard is great too; I did a few quests/dialogues special to bard; they were fun; pickpocket was very useful; those rings of free action, protection+2 and that amulet of metaspell influence sure came in handy! Plus he identified everything so far! It was a pain to identify stuff in my previous game. I was stucked with a cursed ring that petrified my poor fighter! LoL!
