My memory fails again...

    OK, I just recently have gone through BGI again. It's the first time I did it in a really long time, but my thinking was to make a single character and go throughout the entire saga. I'm having major problems with the Tanar'ri though. I know I've beaten him before, and I just don't know what I'm doing wrong. I suppose I can do the standard tactic of surrounding him with 1000 summoned creatures and take him down with magic arrows, but I can't seem to get through the first 3 seconds of battle without having half of my characters held or silenced. Why is it that he always silences the two characters than can cast dispel magic and then starts chucking death spells around, so you can't dispell them - so annoying.

    Those aren't death spells, that's its death gaze. Use Potions of Mirrored Eyes to be immune to its death gaze, that way you won't have to dispel the effect.

    [​IMG] Magic Shielding potions are also good, but BlackThorneTA's suggestion is much... cheaper.

    Ah, potions of mirrored eyes. Never even occurred to me. I just assumed that they only worked against basilisks, but it makes sense that since it's a deathgaze, it affects that as well. Too bad it doesn't work exactly like petrification, in which case a protection from petrification would work as well.
