When you pick up Montaron and Xsar they insist on going to Nashkell. Now I am there, is there anything specific they wanted to do there? Nothing different seems to be happening that wouldn't have happened if they weren't with me.

Nothing different happens. They do say something when you talk to the mayor IIRC, but that's about it.

And they keep complaining if you don't go to see the mayor. They are interested in the iron crisis, although I am sure that the pair are more interested in seeing how they can profit from solving it then other benevolent, less self-serving motives.

If you do not go to Nashkel for a long time and you have Jaheira in your party, she will start complaining as well, as far as I remember.

I see. I went there pretty much straight away because that's where those two wanted to go. Now that I'm there and deep in the mines, those two are useless anyway. Montaron is already dead, and Xsar is no help because he only has a couple of spells and we get attacked by kobolds whenever we rest (so Khalid and Imoen have to do all the work while Xsar hides in the corner).

I hope we get something good out of following these weaners down into this dirty old mine.

Those two are morons, I usually slay them and take their items if playing with a good/neutral party. They might be good in an evil party though.

All they want to do is have you go to Naskel and start chapter 2. They will leave your party after 10 days if you fool around too much.

So if you have an evil party and want to slip north and east to pick up Viconia and Shar Teel before heading to the mine in Naskel don't rest much!
