Interplaygames has announced the winner of its NPC contest for Neverwinter Nights. Although ALFA member J'Kin Gristillodar didn't make the game, he still landed a spot as a finalist. Check out the final results:

    Winners!

Well, all the applications have been received, the votes tallied, the finalists selected, and the choices made. It was an exciting collection of knights and ne'er-do-wells but one has finally risen to the top to claim victory: the half-orc scoundrel and bounty hunter, Vlintz Vulst. While he may not be the most charming man in Luskan, this venerable old underdog is shrewder than he looks and persistent enough to get results. What I liked most about Vlintz was his simplicity - he was very human, if I can use the term. He has no superpowers, no equipment of note - just the street smarts that comes with being a needed man in Luskan. So Vlintz, step up to the podium and "Coom git yoor med'icin," indeed.

Now we had three other exceptional finalists and, while they didn't quite take the big prize, they all deserve honorable mentions in their own right. Fered Flintrock, the aging dwarf and master craftsman, captured the popular vote with tales of his younger years while Daab Nore (aka Damon Ross) made you shutter the windows and lock the doors to keep his Jekkyl & Hyde personality at bay. Then, as many of you know, there's the militant elven nationalist, J'Kin Gristillodar, whose controversial entry stirred up a hot debate on the official boards. If nothing else, at least now you know to keep your eye open for any N'Vaelahrns in the forests and woodlands of ALFA.

So a big thanks to all of you who submitted a character and a hearty congratulations to our finalists!

    Until next time,
