[IMG] Yes! I have new ADSL all-day-long internet. No more one hour limitatinons. Just imagane how many new posts I can post. Tremble in fear!
The only thing that bothers me in that unlimited internet is that it's always online and it's not always used! I feel like the water tap is always on and noone's using it. Always in my life I had saved the internet time and now I feel uncomfortable. Oh well I guess the solution is to be here all the time and not let any internet get away.

[IMG] If you have a 'always on' connection I'd get some ICE or a firewall program or something to stop people from walking into your system. That is if you don't turn it off when you are not using it.

    Just an observation.

Forget the firewall. Unless you're putting some REALLY important things on your PC that you won't be able to restore if something happens...

    btw, I'm jealous! ;)

[IMG] That's not true Extremist; there are unscrupulous people out there that can hack your computer and then use it for their nefarious aims. That is what is believed to have happened with those DoS attacks that happened to a few large and well known companies a while back...

When you're on a dialup connection, your IP address is changing every time you log on and your not online for long stretches of time. With DSL and cable your IP doesn't change often and you can leave it up all the time giving hackers plenty of time to do their dirty work ;)

Sorry to interrupt BTA, but distributed denial of service attacks are aimed and used only for Servers.

No firewall will protect you from abusive web pages or mail attachments.

I have a built-in Firewall from my router. It's kind of nice, but a pain sometimes when you want to send or recieve stuff. I always have to remember to turn it off.

Isn't Windows 2000 (with upgrades) pretty safe against hackers?
