Just a little thing that's bothering me, if anyone knows the answer:

My druid has been wearing "Mithral Field Plate Armour +2" which has an AC of 0 with no extras listed. He also sports the Mantle of the Coming Storm cloak which has a +1 AC bonus.

I just picked up "Full Plate Mail +1" from a guy in Lower Dorns which also has an AC of 0 with no extras listed.

So I try to equip the Full Plate +1 and it says I can't because of magical equipment I'm already using etc. which turns out to be the +1 AC cloak.

My question is why can I wear the cloak with the Mithral armour and not the full plate?

It's because you don't have the HoW expansion installed. Without it the Mithral Field Plate +2 and the elvin chains +3 are considered non-magical.
I guess more players regret that this bug was fixed with HoW than are happy about it.

PS: No one forces you to wear those armors in combination with items which can't be combined with magic armors.

Thanks, you are right, I have original discs but not the HoW expansion.

If you really want to, there is a mod that removes that restriction. You can also modify itemexcl.2da to remove the restrictions on those items mentioned before.
Here's a link for a description of how that 2DA file is set up
    http://iesdp.gibberlings3.net/files/2da/2da_tots/itemexcl.htm
It's for BG1, but it works the same way in all the IE games except IWD2.
