[IMG] Since this game has become so popular, I have decided to try it out. The problem is, it can’t be tried out. I have looked many places for a demo, and searched this forum, but to no avail. Seemingly there is no playable demo for Neverwinter Nights so…

I would like to know how you rate it compared to the BG series. I heard the storyline is not as good. What about gameplay? Since I have a slower Internet connection, I will not be dabbling much in multiplaying. What is your opinion of the single player campaign? Anywhere near the intensity of BG’s? I know it’s a great game, but how great?

    [IMG] There is no demo.

There's about a dozen threads on this topic already, go make a forum search. The user poll rating on our front page gave it 84% if I remember right. The single player campaign can't compare with the intensity of any previous IE games, at best it's on the level of Icewind Dale, or a bit better. It's basically a cross between Diablo and Baldur's Gate. You get to kill, a lot. And then some.

Gameplay is quite enjoyable, but for me it got repetative near the end. Still, you should have fun even if you play only the single player campaign, but you can also download modules you can play offline, and that extends the play time practically to as long as you want to bother with it.

I second that, it doesn't compare to the fun of the BG series, but its still pretty good. The real gem is, of course, the editor, which has alot of potential. If you're looking for another BG, wait for IWD 2.

I can't believe that there's no demo, they could just give out the prelude and a sample of the editor, perfect...

IIRC, they did release the beta of the editor to the public. Maybe you could find that somewhere. You can also check out the stuff found here on SP under the pregame release subheading.

Yes, editor's available as beta. But he said he has a lousy connection, so I doubt he'll go downloading that.
