    I downloaded the NWN chapter unlocker from this site and placed it in my installation directory

    D/Neverwinter nights/NWN and then tried to run it. A little programming window opened and said that it was unlocking NWN and then it terminated prematurely. Is this chapter unlocker only supposed to be used with NWN and not the expansions? Or did I put it in the wrong place? Or was the file possibly corrupted? Can someone please tell me what I did wrong? Thanks.

    It only works for the original game without the expansions, yes.

    But it only edits the CODEWORD bit in nwnplayer.ini, which you can also do yourself. CODEWORD XP1=ffrodriguez will unlock SoU. I haven't finished HotU yet, but the current codeword I have is CODEWORD XP2=bionoel

    Someone who's finished HotU can look it up in their ini and paste the final code here.

    In nwnplayer.ini under [Game Options].
    Code:
    CODEWORD=hacktastic
    CODEWORD XP2=barkeater
    CODEWORD XP1=ffrodriguez

    It certainly was a lot easier typing in a couple words in nwnplayer.ini than downloading a program to do it for me. Worked like a charm. Thanks guys.

    Slightly OT: do these codewords also allow you to edit a chapter in the toolset before completing it?

    Yes. The game thinks you've completed the modules the normal way.

    All you have to do is open up the NWN/nwm folder. See those files? "CHAPTER1.nwm" or something close to that? Make a copy of that file. Drop it into NWN/modules. Rename the file to Chapter1.mod -- or whatever you want, so long as you change .nwm to .mod. You also need to uncheck "read only" under the file properties. You can now load up that chapter as a module and play through it. You can also now open it up in the toolset and do whatever you want with it.
