    Since none of the games are out yet, all we really can judge by are what bull the developpers tell us, and the screen images that they allow us to see. So, I'd love to be proven wrong, but to me it looks like NWN have their work cut out for them. It's obvious to anyone that morrowind looks a lot better... And still, both games are due this christmas, right? Personally, I've always preferred TES' level and skill system, where you gain skill in what you actually do, ie if you go use your longsword, you'll get better at it. Makes more sense to me... what do you guys think about these two games? I guess it'll be quite biased since we're in a NWN forum, but still.

    [IMG] Might be a strange question, but what in the nine hells is TES?

    [IMG] I understand Morrowind is not multi-player. Contest over?

    TES = The Elder Scrolls.

    Great games, but as Erran said, only 1 player.

    The first two were Arena & Daggerfall. Battlespire was a spin-off and DID allow for tournament play (two or more characters could go head to head to fight each other or team up vs. the enemies).

    Morrowind will be a huge game, but will compete more with Pools of Radiance and NWN, imho.

    These games are great stress reducers . . . you walk first person through the maze, like in Doom or Duke Nukem. To swing your weapon, you move the mouse - different moves lead to swings or stabs, etc.

    [IMG] Arena was a good game, but I don't like the first person view as much as the overhead. FP does not allow you to have a party and thus feels more like a FPS then a CRPG. Wizard & Warrior did a good job with combining the value of a first person view with a party but it was a turn based system just didn't seam right. As anyone seen a RPG that combines a party and a first person or even non-3/4 overhead view?

    I still think I like the NWN view the best so far, but things will change with technology.

    If a game is first person perspective it doesn't mean that it's a FPS. Daggerfall was a beautiful game which had an excellent story and an excellent feeling to it.
    There were bunch of possibilities in the game: loads of guilds, temples, spell making, item making, potion making, training and so on.
    Sure you did't have the dialogue options you have now in BG2 and such, but in terms of character development, skills, the whole game depth...daggerfall was really good. So, judging from that, Morrowind has all the chances to be an excellent game. I think it really doesn't have muliplayer, but that's why NWN will be around :)

    I think NWN & Morrowind will scratch different itches for players.

    NWN will give a slowly developing, indepth character story.

    TES has great combat, cool items you make, and other thrills (you can run, jump, climb etc).

    I think TES stacks up more against Diablo.
