I've had this game for quite a while but never saw a complete run. My party is as follows:

Human Fighter lvl 7, 18 int, ++++ in Large swords

    Human Paladin

Human Fighter lvl 7, Cleric 5

    Halfling F/T

    Human Bard

    Half-elf F/D

Very human oriented unlike most parties I make. My question is this- would leveling my fighter to 9 before dual-classing be too long of a wait? I'd like to take grandmastery to have some fun with the long sword of action...but i'd actually like to play with both skills at some time.

And haste. It says it DOUBLES your attacks per round. Does this seriously do this?

If you have the expansion, dual classing at level 9 is fine. If not, it might be a hassle. I think haste gives you +1 attack per round, improved haste doubles your attacks. Not sure though, but that's how it works in BG.

Level 9 (or higher) is more bang for your buck than level 7. But either way, you will kick some butt in melee. I prefer level 7 as it lets you utilize mage spells a bit earlier in the game.
