I know this can be done, but I never tried it myself. I checked the archives and I didn't find what I was looking for. I borrowed a PSone game from my friend (FF IX) I know it will work I tested it. But I fear I'd might have problem with the memory card, because it isn't an ''official'' Sony one, it's a third party one. Will this cause any problem? I didn't know up untill now that my PS2 memory card wouldn't work.

And second, what's the difference between PSX and PSone ? is it the same abreviation for the Playstation?

Ive heard its a bit dodgy, you have to use a sony psone memory card if your saving psone games on a ps2.

As for the psx psone thing, as far as I know thats just branding it...

From what I've heard, some games work and some don't. I think it also depends on how old or new your PS2.
The only game I tried was a Star Wars game and it was pretty dodgy.

I play Gran Turismo from PS on my PS2 all the time. As Slayer mentioned, I have to use a PS1 memory card to save the game, but it works fine. I haven't many other games, but all of the 5 I have tried have worked.

I never owned a PS1 and we have all of the Final Fantasy games for it. Our PS2 is weird though, and we needed to hold it on its side for it to read the PS1 discs. I don't trust third party memory cards, personally, so I would just go and buy a 15$ Sony one.
