My second time through, I recreated my ranger from Icewind Dale with ShadowKeeper. His stats were legit in IWD anyway. He dual wields longswords and flails. In IWD, he used the Longsword of the Hand +3. In BG2, I got the flail of ages early and purchased the Blade of Roses as soon as I could. Upon returning from the underdark, he wields the Equaliser in his off hand. In BG2, he was an average character who scraped through with a lot of help form the NPCs. In IWD, he hung out with 4 evil bastards consisting of a half-elf fighter thief, a cleric and a mage. The party called themselves the Bastard Squadron and their evil deeds were tempered by the presence of Laew, the ranger. Being of chaotic good alignment, he tolerates the arrogant and cruel behaviour of his companions but stops them when they try to pillage and rape commoners and his heroic nature always drops the Bastard Squadron into situations where they become saviours and heroes, much to the ire of his friends. He is a large sized fellow who is taller than his companions by a head at least. Long white hair and weathered features belie his youth and do little to help his often rugged and scruffy appearance. He often looks stern and sombre but is a really cheerful and witty fellow to those around him. His high intelligence (18,legit) gives him much potential as a mage but he prefers the way of the blade instead. Heh, I just love rangers, with their extra attack in IWD and free dual wield in BG2.
