Hell is a punishment, even ruling it would be a punishment while heaven is at least supposed to be a reward so really I'd rahter choose the reward than the punishment. Especially if ruling hell is anything like Lucifer in Dante's Inferno.

It depends on what or who I would serve/rule. Semantics will win out in the end.

I don't believe that either place actually exists. I'll make do perfectly well with what I've got right here, thanks.

I'm a follower, not a leader. I'd gladly serve in Heaven.

Quite right, there - this poll and question are theoligically biased against atheism. I hereby demand that "rot in a coffin" be a third option. :p

    1. Why did you bother posting in this thread. Really.
    2. It's a question which assumes, for the sake of the question itself, that the Biblical Heaven and Hell exist. You don't actually have to be a TRUE BELIVER PRAISE JESUS to answer the poll.
    3. CLARIFICATION FOR PEDANTS:

Serve in Heaven: you bascially get to live in Heaven. You're under the rule of God and the assorted angels.
Rule in Hell: You're in the position of the Great Adversary himself, and have complete control over the denizens of the underworld.

You all think you're so smart with your semantics. :shame:

im honestly not going to stay in this discusion because i think i can see where its going and im not home much these days, so to summerise it short, I would rather reign in hell, then serve this egocentric childish fearfull god i read about in the bible.

he allows slavery, he throws out adam and eve in fear, he kills jobs family for no other reason then a bet with satan, he demands a child to be sacrificed to test a mans faith, he kills for the smallest reasons and the list goes on.
if he is the allmighty god i have to serve, i rather burn.

Would this not in theory give you the ability to change hell and make it a heaven in your image? I think it's better to leave out the semantics and have everyone picture their own versions of heaven and hell and choose accordingly. Giving out too much semantics will guide people to certain choices.

I'd serve in heaven. No particular logic why.

Just not a leader I guess.

I'd serve in heaven. Why? One word.

    Pillows.

Read into that what you will.

Speaking strictly for myself, I think I'm smart because I recently bought a Brain'O'Matic. Half price from Wal-Mart. :thumb:

Ooohhh! Pillow fights with heavenly babes! Can't get much better than that! :D

OK, seriously - I'd serve in heaven. Provided that the tips were good, and I didn't have to clean the toilets.

:) No toilets in heaven. As I have spoken so let it be written.

Serve in heaven cause I wanted to see the results.

Semantics? All words spoken or written are semantics. My mother told me that Heaven is what I want it to be and she always spoke the truth at least as she knew it.

Besides Hell as usually defined (ie: Dante) doesn't exist.

Truth be told I don't expect to go to either.

    And that is my :2c:

Ideally a heaven has only good things, so I suppose it might have a decent administration. Hence, following in heaven seems a-okay. Plus, I think there are decent fringe benefits, even if there is a bit of a glass ceiling problem on advancement.

A tough one it appears- the results are still quite close. I'm not sure, although serving in Heaven would probably be the safe choice.

So what would you rather do, Clixby? You started this thread and didn't state a preference.

    An admirable sentiment.

Should I ask what they use then?

I think the point is that such bodily functions are unnecessary where only the spirit is concerned.

Ah, but that's a gnostic/Neoplatonist idea. Orthodox Christianity believes that we *will* have physical bodies in heaven.

Serve in Heaven. I don't think that the service would be that odious.
