    I can only answer the first question (yes) because I don't have the faintest idea what all the rest of those acronyms mean.

    I've got one of those phones that sends and receives calls. It can also do text messages and has 3 games, an alarm clock, and a selection of annoying ringtones. Does that help?

    Here are the techs along with some carriers that use it.

    CDMA: Telus, Bell, Alltel, Sprint, Verizon, Metro PCS, U.S. Cellular, Cricket, Virgin,
    GSM: Fido, Rogers, AT&T (Cingular), T-Mobile, Vodafone, Orange, SFR, O2, Sonera, Cellular One (Dobson) Distinctive by the use of SIM cards.
    TDMA: Rogers, AT&T (Cingular), U.S. Cellular, Tracfone.
    iDEN: Nextel, Southern LINC, Mike
    UMTS: Cingular
    AMPS: First ever technology. Still used on most CDMA and legacy TDMA networks.
