I'm back from a long sabbatical from RPGs. I spent some time in Warcraft 3 land; it was not satisfying. I'm back at my first love.

I'm looking for suggestions for what game to play. I like single player fun, but can move into multi as well. So here's your chance to influence my future.

I hear Knights of the Old Republic (Star Wars RPG by BioWare) is very, very good. NWN certainly isn't in the same league as BG2 for single player, not sure about MP, and I have absolutely no idea about TEE.

Edito: Can't believe I forgot these ones, I'm far too sleep deprived for my own good. Anyway, you should definitely check out Fallout 1 and 2, they're really good and should be pretty damn cheap. Morrowind is pretty good too, though at times it can be rather tedious.

Multiplayer for NWN is worth it, and the expansion to NWN, SoU, has a much better single player experience. Doesn't have much replay value, but is fun none-the-less.

I also here than Knights of the Old Republic is great, and what I have of played of it was well done. If your computer can run it I would suggest it.

Check out the A Land Far Away section in the Online Games section here.
    This thread in particular http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=13;t=000081;p=1#000003
But also this one has some stories about what goes on at A Land Far Away: http://www.sorcerers.net/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=13;t=000060

Generally, if you are looking for RPing game, this is what you are looking for. No other game anywhere compares to this one in RPing aspects.

And replay value? Well every single time you play a character through to death or retirement it will be different. Not just because you choose different choices, but due to different DM quests, different player interactions, etc.

    See previous post.
To be a bit more precise.. Buy NwN and dont start the offical campaign. You might just burn the game if you do ;)
Instead go playing online. But there are still many(i'd say most) sucky powergaming servers, so if youre looking for pure RP go for ALFA
You gotta apply first though: right here .
And hope you get accepted ;)

In my opinion theres nothing better than Baldur's Gate, number one in particular. Its so much fun roaming the countryside mashing up some random helpless squirrels...*sigh* those were the days :) .

So what are you waiting for go and get Baldurs Gate and get killin'! :D

Fallouts good as well, from what I've heard IWD1 is better than IWD2, and I don't know much else other than that...welcome back by the way!
