You call this a GOOD review? They're saying that the game is mediocre, and if you reminiss (sp?) about the good old days of the original PoR, you'll get a kick out of the game.

This is probably the best review of PoR2 I've ever seen; and by best I mean fair and accurate (as opposed to what's usually posted here about it).

Who are they trying to fool? They should have just told everybody the real scoop: PofR is the most horrific, lame-*** pile of garbage ever to masquerade on a PC as an RPG. And instead of 70%, give a 10% for semi-decent graphics.

It's slowness for moving around blows away anything done even by SSI during their affiliation with TSR, and that's truly a sad statement.

Like I wasn't already convinced that gamer magazines are themselves worthless money pits, here comes yet more proof.

Sorry if this post sounds obnoxious. Surely you can all understand what a bad taste PofR left in my mouth.

PoR only sucked if it wasn't what you were expecting, and onced patched the bugs were a non-issue. I was expecting the turn-based move-slash-move combat of the old-school game, and that's what I got. In fact, it was the original that got me interested in computer RPG's in the first place. For what it was, it was a decent game. The style of play it was based on doesn't really hold up when compared to the fast-paced action of games like Diablo2 and BG. But there are certainly worse games out there.

Basically: While many games are over-rated, this game is overbashed. Just leave it alone, people.
