Problems with Icewind Dale on IBM A20p Laptop

    Remove all ads!
    Anybody successfully running IWD on an IBM A20p Laptop (running Win98). Whenever I try it bluescreens relating (I think) to a 3D sound drier problem. I've upgraded to the latest sound drivers from IBM but to no avail.

    Just turn all 3D and enviromental sound effects off and you should be fine. You can do all this in the config program before actually running the game.

    but... but... but... I _like_ the sound effects (on my desktop m/c).

    Thanks for the quick response. I can't remember whether I tried that last time I tried to get it working but I'll give it a go.

    Just turn EAX and that crap off, not all of it. :)
    You'll still get sounds same as usual, only less... real? I never noticed any difference really.

    ahhh... previously I had only been playing around in the /IWD/ config. now turned off EAX in the sound driver config and it seems to get past where it was crashing. can't do more than that at the mo without threatening job security. I'll try chasing it up with the vendors.
