    Is it normal that when you bring the mythal stone book to Orrick for his quest, that there is no reward-not even a legitimate response? (Just some weird garbled message)

    Yes, though I think they fixed that with a patch. It's been a while so I could be wrong about the fix, but I had the same problem when I played originally.

    I believe there is a patch to fix this....but I know that installing HOW will automitically fix this problem. If you have the means defiately buy and install HOW. It not only expands the story, but it also adds items and makes some minor changes to IWD.
