Well, it's time for me to give the answers everyone hates: the supposes and incompletes. All I can say is it *might*. Honestly, I can't remember, but I say it might because I know for certain that it does affect dialog in some spots during ToB. I beleive Charisma, Wisdom, Intelligence, and perhaps reputation and alignment all can affect question/answer choices in ToB. So that would at least be something to consider when contmplating your stats if you plan to take the Paladin all the way to the end. But like I said, while I think it might, I can't be sure. Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this for you a little more thoroughly than I could.

Yes, it does matter. Its nowhere near as important as in PST, but there are some dialogues that are affected. Same with ToB.

No. Dumb paladins are strange, but the intelligence doesn't give any bonusses. MOst important stats for Paladins are Strength for teh Combats, Wisdom for the Spells and Charisma. Intelligence is not necessary, however if you really want to roleplay, you should have an average intelligence, for imagine a very dumb paladin with high charisma.... that isn't okay is it? Choose for intelligence between 9 and 13... that is average an OK for a hero paladin.

Hmm well i thought about it and i can get myself a 13 int ounce i get all the tomes ill have all 18 except a 8 for int but when i import my paladin into SOA i can use shadows keeper to nock 1 off of every stat and put it into int and ill have 13 INT that wont be cheating i dont think cause i am making him weaker .

  6. Actually, nothing affects dialogue in BG series. That's why Arcanum is so great because a lot of things can affect the dialogue... what you're wearing (have ever tried going around naked?!), intelligence, charisma etc.

No I'm certain it does affect dialog choices in ToB. Of that I am positive. Now it may very well not in any other BG game, but I will stand by my statement that it does for certain in ToB. A good example of this if you want to test it is the bhallspawn in the inn in Saradush. You can't get the option of using *spoiler!!!!!!!!* horror on him unless you have a requisite intelligence. I know because I got the choice in my first game with my kensai/mage, but my fighter/cleric didn't until he drank one of those intelligence enhancing potions. There were other examples of stats affecting dialog choices in ToB, but off the top of my head, I can't think of any.

Yes, that's one example. Your dialogue options with "Gorion" in ToB are also Int (or is it Wis?) based. I think the Spectator in SoA has a stat requirement, too, but I'm not positive. Granted, its nowhere near as developed as in PST, for example, but it does matter.

Ah you already play with the Paladin I remember. You can also use GateKeeper and give al stats one point lower and higher Int by 5. After reading the tomes you also have the 18's for strength etc back. However I say an intelligence of 11 is average and very good. So why not just raise INT by 3, lower Wisdom, Dexterity and Charisma by one, and keep the Strenght and COnstitution on 18, so with the tomes you would even get a 19 (the difference between 18 and 19 is very great, due to the advanced strength rules above 18) An intelligence of 11 is very good and then the rest is also good. Then you don't have to change the whole personality of the Paladin suddenly in BG2, but you can just grow in BG.

A pladin *needs* int, don't negelect it in hope to better place your stat points elsewhere :nono: you'd better roll a little longer ...

IIRC it does affect some dialogue options in BG-2 SoA (I have the fool in the tent in trademeet in mind - but maybe that was high wis :heh: ;) ). Anyway, high int is great when dealing with mindflayers and it gives you some lore as well which can be quite handy (no need to harass your thiefs or mages all the time ;) )

This is for someone who said wisdom is important for paladins. I'm not saying it isn't, but it doesn't give extra spells, like he said above. It only does that for clerics and druids, not paladins and rangers.

Check the link above, wis is important because it influences saving throws. Good saving throws can be ... life savers ;)

Indeed, I already found out that low intelligence in the Mind Flayers Dungeon is veeerrry bad :)

Hehe, yes that is certainly true! My poor 10 Int Berserker, otherwise capable of ignoring the mindflayers' silly attacks, must always watch carefully for that little red "brain drain" indicator or else! Cheesy bastards.
