I've been wanting to get a new game, but I've only been working temp jobs for the last couple years and have to conserve my money. I've been bidding low on eBay for some games I've wanted for the last 3-5 years. I've also been losing all the auctions, usually in the last 4-5 hours.

Does it harm my reputation at all for excessive low-balling the various auctions and losing or does it only matter that I pay up promptly when I win and leave appropriate feedback (hopefully positive) to the seller? If I win at an absurdly low price, I feel it's the seller's fault for specifying an absurdly low minimum bid, especially when I see identical items with higher minimum bids.

I'm just curious, as the few times I've used eBay in the past I've usually bid more reasonable prices rather than the low-balling I've been doing.

Your reputation on eBay is based solely on feedback.

In other words, nothing happens to your reputation unless you win an auction or successfully sell something.
