Where in the Nine Hells is Irenicus? You know, when he gets attacked by those impy-looking things and it plays the dragon battle music song in the last movie after you've killed him.

On another note, who are those green hood people around the Bhaal table? I know this has been discussed, but does anyone have an answer now? You know, the "child of Bhaal is doomed" people. At first I thought they were the Five, but after you've seen the Five, it would be a joke.

The five are the Children of Bhaal you fight in ToB, as for Irenicus: Idon't know.

Well, here's as good a guess as I can venture ...

If I'm not mistaken, that skull on the table is the insignia of Bhaal, so ...

We all know that Bhaal entrusted (fatally)his resurrection plan to his highest priestess, whom we all know is Melissan. So ...

My guess is that they're members of the old Bhaal order, still loyal to him, and privy to his proposed resurrection plan. Since they're in the know about what's going on with Gorion's ward, it seems the Five aren't the only ones getting their hopes played on and exploited by Melissan. It seems that they also are erroneously trusting and somehow working with Melissan to bring about Bhaal's return.

I think your right Beren, it makes sense. But my first question still remains unanswered!

[IMG] There have been a dozen of discussions on this topic in the past and it was resolved then. I think the topics are in the ToB forum, so make a search there.

I have always thought those green-hooded people as Cowled Wizards, because I think that they fear Child of Bhaal, who killed a great archmage (Cowled wizards couldn't do it)

When I saw the movie, it appeared (at least to me) that these were Priests of Bhaal. Its definitely not 'The Five' from the sequel.

[IMG] I took a look at the archives, but I wasn't able to find the discussion. If you can give me the title - how it all came about, it would be appreciated.

Anyway, I don't want to turn this into another repeat of an old discussion, but the group in the end movie cannot be the five. Most likely the scene was added for a foreboding effect. You can see the same thing in the ending for Baldur's Gate I. When Saverok's stature is destroyed in the Abyss, you can see an enormous number of statures implying that great evil still awaits.

    Anyway, onto BGII....

In the end movie, there are seven humanoids sitting around the table. All of which are either human or elvish (elfs are not likely though :) ) None of the seven are orc, drow or fire giant. Three characters speak during the end sequence, all of which are male.

In the Five from The Throne of Bhaal, only one of the males, Balthazar, is human. Abazigal can take human form, although. Here's what can be derived from the Shadows of Amn Ending and the Throne of Bhaal: :book:

    • Yaga-Shura, Sendai and Gromnir are not present in the Shadows of Amn End Sequence
    • Balthazar, Illasera, and Abazigal may be present.
    • Melissan may be present as well. But she is not one of the Five.
    • Of the three males, two may be The Five. One is unknown.
    • As a result, only 3 of The Five can be present. One can be Melissan. The other 3 characters are unknown.
This means that this is cannot be The Five. Its just a group of Bhaal Priests - watching and waiting. Perhaps this can be a basis for a Baldur's Gate III - the rise of Bhaal (it might have been his plot for Melissan to steal his powers and be defeated all along).

Same here. I would really like to know, but cannot find the topic. Ditto to what the Cybermancer just said.

Like I said, if you're telling me those are THE FIVE, it sounds like a joke. How can they be?

(Sorry to be so irratating, but to me. right now, the story isn't yet complete...)

[IMG] They are The Five. When BioWare finished SoA, they didn't have ToB made yet, nor had any idea what form The Five would be in it, hence the robed figures. You can argue about it to death, but that's the official explanation BioWare gave for it. Of course, you can argue that BioWare doesn't know what they're talking about, but that would be a bit silly.

Anyway, this topic is getting moved to ToB forum, like all the previous ones.

[IMG] I have to agree with Farthy. It seems to me that the entire Baldur's Gate story was abruptly cut short.

It seems rather ludicrus that Bhaal would be so foolish to trust all his powers and future in the hands of one of his own priests. He is chaotic evil, and very well aware that she would betray him.

I think Bioware had (or at least the writers had) a more grandiose story than what turned out in the Throne of Bhaal. Bhaal should have risen again. Perhaps it was his plot just to gain power by letting his taint grow stronger with the blood of innocents. Or he simply wanted to destroy Faerun....

I think the whole "that was the Five" exclamation from Bioware is spin. Nothing more. Nothing less.

We might still get a BGIII out of this.

Last I heard, Bioware was planning a BG3, although it will not continue the Bhaalspawn saga which ended with ToB.

I hope you are right Rastor. It would be nice if the Throne of Bhaal became as irrelevant to the Baldur's Gate saga as the other expansion packs did for the original game. One can only hope.

[IMG] Did you read that right? ToB is the conclusion of the Bhallspawn saga which started with BG1, which means that the story begun with BG1 is OVER with ToB. BG1 is the beginning, ToB is the end. Any sequel will have a brand new story.

[IMG] You're right. I don't think I read his post correctly. It was most likely do to wishful thinking on my part.

Its quite obvious I was very disappointed with TOB. :wail:

It violated the very foundation of the Bhaal deity. Bhaal is not naive! :flaming:

Oh well. A new Baldur's Gate will be nice.
