I'm leaving Ciana as she is she's level 11 (8 bard) so I think after Torturus if she survives would be better.

 

Sorry I haven't posted but I'm not sure how we want to handle this scene. I'd like us to finish up this quest and then decide where to go from here.

Summary:
Nakia is going to sneak in the barrack's window and toss a fire bomb. Jex is going to fight what ever comes out. Ciana and Maron are backups. The Drow brothers and Mauro are going after the evil sorcerer. Eliana(sp?) is helping Jex. Is that correct?

 

Ok, I have a question, how do you normally handle battles, like the up-comming one with "tortorus"(sp?) , does someone acts as him?
I know that normally we don't use roll or anything like that, but in this case there will be many thing going at once (people fighting outside, and some other fighting the main 'boss').

I have never RP an actual battle, so any indication on how will be welcome.

About the summary, I think is correct. Kongol will go after the Evil Sorcerer.

Good question about Torturus(¿sp?). Who will play him? I would suggest DarkStrider. I am not good at playing mages. Fighters, rogues, clerics, druids I can relate to but not mages.

 

I can do mages, but not that kind of evil. Really, I think we should handle this like any other battle, having him act as needed and voiced by those who created him (EI & DS).

 

PS, Torturus is a kind of wizard who seems to think he is above everyone, and never really loses his cool, ya know? He's powerful, efficient and flashy.

Ciana's song increases morale and attacks, she's inspiring courage.

 

If anyone decides to have Torturus attack Nakia remember that Halflings are somewhat magic resistant. She can be affected but not as much as other species.

 

Maron and the brothers have a shiny magic resistance shell!

 

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. RL has been distracting recently. You'd think something so insignificant as work would be willing to give way to something as important as SP.

 

Jex isn't going to attack Torturus at all. He'll deal with minions. This is the brothers and Ciana's fight.

 

I think it time to check the place out, not forgetting that it is on fire. Gather ourselves and head to Watergate.

Fel, I lost my maps when my computer crashed. Can you link me to the one you had.

DarkStrider, does your character read halfling? The scroll Nakia found is an ancient halfling with information on the secret group we discussed.

 

Sadly I have no idea, would knowledge (arcane) cover written languages? The generator I used to create did not have the skill decipher script so I think the answer will be no.

Temple visits my understanding is that Maron wants to go to a temple of Sune, Del should go to a temple to ensure there are no ill-effects from her split and Ciana should go that Maron or someone uses the scroll to heal her.

Oh yeah if we're lucky there will be some cool stuff in there.

 

Perhaps some of youses should confront the brothers on the question of their continuing companionship with you guys, or not..

I don't know how 3e answers it, but Arcane Knowledge sounds a lot like the Spellcraft proficiency, or at least something having to do with, oh I don't know, Arcane stuff. In 2e it would be a "Language, Ancient (Ancient Halfling)" proficiency.

Thanks, Fel. I think we are in the north country. There is a trail which leads to several settlements. Finding temples shouldn't be a problem plus there is always the random one sitting in the middle of nowhere.

Hokay, Nakia's quest but actually a community effort or we will all be bored to tears. DS, Fel and I have had some discussion in FAI on this so we have something to work with. Surprises always welcome. I love surprises!

At some point either here or in RP I'll post a description of Nakia's village/burrow. Thinking Tolkien's Hobbit will help you visualize it. However there may be a few surprises of my own.

Since we're not playing 3e rules but more 2.5 played rather freely I see no reason why Ciana couldn't know Halfling. Might be helpfull.
Depends on how DarkStrider wants to play it.

 

I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to post in here as I'm not in the RP, but I though I'd lend a hand. In 3e to read the Halfling language, you'd either need sufficient skill in Decipher Script, take Speak Language (Halfling) or if you have the intelligence, have taken Halfling as a bonus language on character generation (one language for each positive intelligence modifier).

Knowledge (arcana) covers ancient mysteries, magic traditions, arcane symbols, cryptic phrases, constructs, dragons and magical beasts... generally.

However this is more a BG setting and I think 2.5e applies. Although we've been pretty loose even with that.

I leave it up to DS how he wants to play Ciana.

We have several ways we can go. Nakia is going home. We need to visit temples. That gives Del, Ciana and Maron incentive to travel along at least for now. We are in a wilderness area, the others might travel with her just to get somewhere more civilized or thinking they are added protection.

Or we can begin to set the scene for Nakia's quest. Don't think we should hurry her though until we get the temples out of the way. If she thinks her village is in danger she will head straight there.

 

I've changed Ciana's character sheet to speak Halfling instead of Orc, this coupled with her bardic knowledge and Knowledge (Arcane) and Knowledge (Books) should allow her to read the scroll.

Jex if you want it the amulet is +5 to armour class and Nakia the ring is also +5 I assume that Torturus would have the best.

With regards to where to next obviously a temple(s) to sort out the various bits more importantly now it will have the materials we need to open and read the scroll without damaging it (very important).

EI am I reading that right in that you want to split? Or is it just to add another spicy flavour to the thread.
