    So, I have never played a game of PnP D&D in my life. Ever. I have just never been close enough to anyone who wanted to try it. Now, I would like to learn.

    I stand here, a noob in the area of PnP, and request advice for recommended readings for idiots, I mean newbies.

    Core D&D books are Players Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, and Monster Manual.

    Bu come into the chatroom some time - there are alternatives to D&D which I very much like showing people and attempting to recruit them into :D

    Once having those, I suggest you buying books such as Greyhawk Adventures where you have pregenerated worlds so that you could even better realize how it works ^.^ Don't go very advance until you master the basics. ^_~
