I talked to Ardrouine, cleared the lighthouse (guarded by 3 worgs) and I can't find her son. I clicked on every building and he doesn't appear. Even tried resting there, walking around lighthouse, cliking on every building with different character... and nothing happened. Is it a bug or is event triggered? Can somebody help?

You only need to kill the worgs and talk to the lady finish the quest.

I did that too and she replays something like that: "Lighthouse is to north-west."

Are there supposed to be more than 3 worgs because in my game there were only 3?

My recommendation is to leave the area, rest in the next zone and then come back and check the lighthouse. One of the worgs may have wandered off from a morale failure and be snagged somewhere, and this should bring them back to their proper place.

Failing this- Say "Oh well", the reward isn't too impressive anyways.

I had no time yet to continue game. That a worg could escape Varscona or my arrows is tiny possibility. I'll check the surroundings one more time just in case. I earned enough of exp. in golem cave so forgeting 500 points is no problem. And what goes about the increase of reputation is also better to move on (Branwen just started complaining). My reputation is already 19 or 20 and I'll get one more point after I bring Braige's body to Naskel. I'll report what happened when I'll have more time to play.

There are worgs in the entrance of the lighthouse and a couple in the courtyard to the side of the building itself (only about 3-5 in total). I always click in the doorway of the lighthouse and it says something about you not seeing anything. Then when I go back to talk to her, she says I must of scared him and I get my xp and rep.

As a side note: there are exactly 3 worgs in that area.

I loaded previous savegame and went to Ardrouine cleared the lighthouse (killed 3 worgs) and returned. When I talked with Ardrouine again she said that I have scared him of and I got exp and rep. I believe that when you save the game in the middle of the quest you can't finish it (that is the only possible explanation).

How do you usually lower reputation and what is optimal reputation? Currently I have 20 and Branwen is complaining a lot. I'll lose 2 points when I help Viconia but I have to help Minsc first. It is also interesting that when I hired Minsc he had 33k exp (Edwin 41k).

As for saving the game in the middle of a quest, it should not cause problems. Usually it does not, but certainly nothing is perfect.

Branwen will not leave the party, she just keeps complaining. Lowering reputation is not necessary.

The level of a joinable NPC at the time (s)he joins your party depends on the character's level who has the highest level in your party IIRC.
However, the maximum level of a joinable NPC in BG is 6, no matter what level your protagonist or any party member is at. (This value is 12 in BG2:SoA and 17 in ToB)
