[IMG] For those of us who've fought Mind Flayers,I think it's safe to say they're so of the toughest enemies in the game. It is possible to beat them though: Although they are immune to almost all magic, if you summon and lot of creatures (elementals, those two huge bears, Monster summoning 3) and then cast Wizard's Eye, you can normally kill two Mind Flayers quite easily. It is best, if you Chant, Bless and Haste all the creatures, as that will give them a HUGE bonus over them.

    Two words: "Chaotic Commands"

This 5th level Priest spell gives you immunity to their domination and psionic blasts. Careful with summoning when fighting them... sometimes they decide to dominate your creature. Also, watch out for that Inteliigence Drain... when you see that it means there's a countdown to death by brain suck... kill the offending flayer immediately!

I still think that the toughest cookie so far is the Beholder. Alone, they are relatively easy (my chars are around level 15-17), but, in groups of 3 they are deadly...

[IMG] Talking about the beholders in the sewers? They are quite easy if you summon critters to be the connon fodder.

Beholders are quite easy when you have fodder and free movement on your guys. The liche before the temple in the sewers I found to be quite a bit more challenging

    [IMG] Mind flayers? Mind flayers??!!

Bah, they *know* not that flesh yields to steel, and thus overestimate their powers.

[IMG] Liches go down as easy (?) as any super-duper magic users-there are plenty in the game.
Cast BREACH, then pummel them with the tanks and ranged weapons. They dont last long.

No Bhaal, these are not beholders, these are their small cousins, Garths (or something). I am talking about rooms with 2 beholders and 1 elder orb, in later stages of the game...

And summoning does not always work, since they have many attacks per round and are smart enough to attack my characters as well as my monsters...

[IMG] About Mind Flayers: They *know* not that flesh yields to steel, and thus Vilquar's blindness becomes their own.

And about Beholders, I wonder how much they'd like POWER WORD: BLIND!

    :D
