Yeah Shadow Thieves, Bodhi is the evil choice and you get a rep hit from joining her.

It is really up to you, you could justify going both ways. Try Shadow Theives just for fun :)

I went with Bohdi the first time through on a whim (not very in character for my lawful good fighter) :)
You can go with either without any huge penalties IIRC, though some members of your party may complain. I think Keldorn's the only one who walks out if you go with Bohdi.

It is really irrelevant who you'll choose.

Just be warned that there is a bug with Bodhi - but if it occurs post it here (at one moment it can happen that you can't reach her).

The main thing you should be aware of is that avoiding to join shadow thieves will destroy your chances to romance Jaheira. But then again, you just promise Gaelan Bayle that you'll collect money for him first time you meet him, and afterwards you can turn him back when you meet Bodhi - romance will be OK.

[IMG] I go with the Shadow THieves because they are vile and evil as well, and vampires are just annoying.

Thieves are not necessarily evil (imoen isn't, my character isn't). It is a vocation, not a lifestyle. I agree that it is hard to ignore some of the things that you see at the theives guild (torture for instance), but at least they are not undead.

IIRC, don't you gain fewer XP if you go "evil" and side with Bodhi, versus going "good" and siding with the Shadow Thieves? Don't you miss out on some "good" quests, and befoul the romance with Jaheira?
    :aww:

Going evil with the vamps or going evil with the thieves is no big deal, just take your pick.

(but you do get better equipment going with vamps :) )

Try doing search on this topic....

Even when you don't look at alignments........ Bodhi is the second worst enemy of you in the whole game. You won't be her slave and do things for her I suppose. The Shadow Thieves and you have the same goals... Killing Bodhi and Irenicus. Unite with them.

@headbanger, yes but you don't know that Bodhi is your second worst enemy at that point in time. But in case you think you know that, why not go with Bodhi and....

How can you not be suspicious of Bodhi? After all, there were vampires in Irenicus's dungeon.

I worked for Bodhi my first time through (NG elven F/M) and the romance with Jaheira went along just fine.

What happens to screw the romance up when you work for Bodhi?

You can't get the romance with Jaheira - if you never accept Gaelan Bayle's proposal. So the romance "screw up" is linked to Gaelan Bayle.

But if you accepted it, and later you payed Bodhi, romance just proceeds fine. There are no "screw up" things that would affect romance because you're going with Bodhi.

That's no problem Ex. At least a good solution not to go with Jaheira :)

Indeed all problems with vampires made me already think Bodhi was suspecious in the first game. But when you are evil you might take such risks and you might love vampires. I still see helping the Vampires as something that only evil might do.

I went with the Theives the first time. Although you might wanna go with Bohdi if you hate fighting vampires. I found a bug with Bohdi. I went to the graveyard at daytime and was exploring the Crypts there waiting for it to become night. I was in a crypt when she approrached me. She never unlocked the door to her lair so I was never able to go down there and give her the package and other quest items :(. I simply reloaded and went with the Thieves instead :).

It's too bad you can't get some other group besides the Shadow Thieves, like the Temple of Helm or the Order of the Radiant Heart, to help get Imoen back. It seems a bit out of character for my Cavalier to get help from a group of crooks, however good their intentions. Oh well :)

Lol well, thanks guys, but I posted this quite a while ago...I'm no longer the BG2 newbie I once was; I graduated to rookie. Thanks for the replies, but I already finished the game with one character.
