    This is the first I heard about it - then again it did happen in the early morning hours and I didn't watch the news this morning. Sounds like the deputy was derranged - barging into the house guns blazing? WTF?

    From what I understand, he was suspicious of his girlfriend and she was one of the victims. He probably wasn't quite sane, sure, but afaik it was jealousy that led to the accident. Of course, now that he's dead, it's all guesswork

    BTW, is it typical for a guy his age to be the deputy sheriff? I admit I'm not very familiar what deputy sheriffs should do, but he strikes me as quite young for a position of some importance in the community.

    Shaman, in the US, all police officers employed at the county level of government are called deputy sheriffs. So in this case, deputy is not indicative of assisstant or second-in-command status, if that's what you were thinking.

    Ah, ok. Still, I'm surprised that he was an actual cop - wasn't he under 18?

    he was 20. officially they are saying he commited suicide by shooting himself 3 times. in the head.
    not sure what that is all about. if the tac guys took him out just say it.

    on the ohio school shooting, it looks like he was mad at everybody. several students have reported that he had made threats before to stab people & blow up the school. several parents had apparently asked for metal detectors but none had been installed.

    there was also a shooting at western high school near las vegas in the news, it looks like it started at a convienence store nearby & continued to the school parking lot at about 6:30am in the morning
