I cleared the river caves and collected experience. I rejected the kill the monks quest, cuz c'mon, they're monks. Then I decided to see what was locked up in the chapel and the Drueger got pissed. I had to kill them all. It was surprisingly easy. So, now I am wondering, are there any repercussions, besides not being able to do the kill the monks quest, I should know about before I save over the game I saved before killing the dark fellas.

No repercussions, just a little xp and pretty cool loot, especially if you're looking for good crossbow firepower ;) I always kill the duergar, starting a discussion about slavery with my pallies :D

    there is a repercussion.
inside severed hand, you'll meet Cloud asking for your help to revive Aeris. with the help of Tifa and Yuffie, they teleport you to Midgar city and you can find the drueger head there if you haven't kill him. he will in turn leads you to a secret cow level where you kill all the cows and find a potion to revive Aeris. nothing important, you don't miss much.

[IMG] Ragusa, I kill them too and I don't have any pallies.
Pallies in the party are poor excuse, admit that you kill them just to get those slaves for yourself! Here, I give you those I got, my anti-pallie partymembers hate slavery... :p

[IMG] Beeing lawful AND good still is the best excuse for a serious fight :shake: doesn't has much to do with needing slaves, I have enough already.

Hmm - a disturbing thought: Could it be that I play my pallies CE in IWD-2 ??!

Teekc, I never met those people in the severed hand! Where do you meet them? What's their story in detail, please? (I play these games more for the story than anything else, so I don't like to miss interesting stuff like that..)

And how can you not kill the head of the duergar? You have to defend yourself when he abushes you at the bottom of the monastery. Or do you mean if you take their quest and kill the monks then they don't ambush you?

I had to kill the Duergar also. *HAD* to.

My paladin only had one conversation path to choose from, and pretty much he spit in the head slave dude's face.

The fight was fun too, my only question is if there is a shop or something in there that I missed. Next time maybe I'll have my theif talk first ;)

if any trouble is created, is me to blame. the characters mentioned are from final fantasy 7. don't you think their names are not that d&d? but anyway, aeris (a character that you can play in ff7) died in the middle of the game. so goes the rumors of aeris can be revive at the end of the game. it has became something very big among those who were playing ff7. everyone were playing the game so hard to find the way. my younger brother and his friends are among those who believe that aeris can be revive. it was terribly funny for me so i mentioned this every now and then. i even said this in a championship manager game forum. (think about it, linking the story to a football manager game.)

ok, the truth is, it doesn't really matter if you killed the dwarves and monks or not. i would suggest to do so. because you can loot their goods and sell them to a merchant in underdark for 20% highier price. the money will in turn help you buy potions to overcome the battlesquare.

If you take the quest to kill the monks, the duergar still show up and attack you. And for that matter, if you kill the duergar and THEN kill the monks, you STILL get attacked by duergar when you leave the monastery, only there's a reduced contingent in front of you and no one behind you so the battle is much easier. Also, you have the nice kit you got from killing the duergar so you're better equipped to enjoy it. :)
