I'm not a complete newbie, and wouldn't post asking for help here unless I was really stuck, so I hope you guys can help me out here :) . I also hope I'm not breaking any forum rules!

I have a 2mb internet connection, with the following speed test results...
    http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/8229/speedtest9ut.jpg

Having used both BitComet and Azureus, the download speeds I get average around 20kb/sec, the same with the U/L speed. As far as I can see, the problem is not being able to connect with peers/seeds, as can be seen here...
    http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/6979/peers8oy.jpg

Now, I got d/l speeds of over 100kb/sec on my 1mb connection, so I should be getting way more than what I am getting.

I believed the problem could be my router not havin the port forwarded for my clients. So I followed the guide found here - http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Dynamode/RADSL-C4W-G/BitComet.htm - and opened the ports for the clients. Screenshot of how it is set-up below...
    http://img410.imageshack.us/img410/6759/routersetup9hu.jpg

The ports listed there are the correct Listening Ports for BitComet.

Despite having done this, I still get really slow download speeds.
I've even gone into my router settings and turned off it's in-built firewall, to see if that opens things up a bit, but the speeds stay the same.

I'd REALLY appreciate any help anyone could give me with this. I've done my best and tried everything I can think of, and failed at every turn! The problem MUST be with my router, I'm pretty positive of it, I just can't seem to pinpoint the problem!

    Many thanks guys.

    Possibly

    1) Don't download warez torrents to test download speeds, try something like Knoppix liveCD.

And btw, asking for help on p2p when it's obvious you warez, HERE?

And in Azureus there's the first (preferably green) light in the infobar. (Should read "Nat OK" or "Nat error" or something like that.) If it's green (within the first hour of downloading), it's not a port forwarding issue.

EDIT: And oh, both Azureus and BitComet need more than one port forwarded. Usually like ten.

[IMG] We'll leave this open for as long as there's no mention of actually downloading anything illegal, but you're walking a fine line here.

    Thanks Taza.
BitComet only has one Listen Port listed in it's options, how do I find out what other ports it is using?

    cheers :) .

The most obvious answer would be that your ISP is censoring what you can download by watching what kind of traffic goes in your lines. To solve this, you should try setting on "Randomize ports" and using encrypted connections (available on uTorrent).

You should also ask/read what their ToS says about it to be sure. You'd be surprised what kind of crap they stuff into them.

    Thanks, Wordplay.
If I randomize ports, how will it know which ports are open and which are closed? I don't get it  .

You don't need to. All you need to do is press that big, red button which has this "DO NOT PRESS!" -sign above it.

All right, it's not like I can help you much with fixing the problem, but, coincidentally, my connection is supposed to be a 2Mbps like yours. While I still don't get 2Mbps in that test, I get 1.8 downstream and 0.3 upstream. So if you pay for 2 and you get 1.1, then something is wrong. What kind of customer service are you getting? My buddy had that problem for a long time but they fixed it for him, finally, and his connection was faster than mine in the end, in the same plan.
