    I wonder if it possible to ripp the music off a movie DVD. My girlfriend and I both like very much the soundtrack of Lola Rent (eng: Run Lola, Run) and since she posesses the DVD we wondered if it would be possible?

    Also, using nero (or other burning program) will it possible to burn a windows media player playlist to a normal CD that would be readable in any normal CD player. It's just that I'm lazy, I don't really want to search and get every single song when all the music is here in one file.

    #1: It's certainly *possible*. I just have a feeling it'll be excessively time consuming and frustrating.

    #2: A WMP playlist doesn't contain any of the music. And to the actual question, there likely is support (tried the burner inbuilt into WMP?), but I don't know what burning programs support it.
    (Aka - it's likely it exists, I just don't know about it. Very useful, I know. :p )

    Because he doesn't want to pay 7E for something he already has.

    @Saber; exactly

    @Taza; So it IS possible, however you didn't tell me anything on HOW to do it. Why bother telling me it is possible without any instruction ?

    Because while you're trying to do it, you need to learn up on it anyway. And it's way more work than it's worth.

    But here's the short guide - extract the audio track, cut the pieces you want from it, encode into a compressed format. Usually the quality's crappy, the songs have sounds from the movie and it's generally unpleasant.

    So, the answer to both questions is - "Certainly possible, but you might want to try other, less annoying and easier methods to get the job done."

    The easiest way would be to play the DVD in your computer, take the audio out cable and plug it in to your MIC In port, and record to the best possible format/bit rate that your hardware/software support. Once you get the file, use Audacity to apply any tweaks you need, and then down-convert the file to an acceptable bit rate. :thumb: :rolling:
