SOU Questions before I begin

    Hi Y'all!

    I've yet to install and play SOU...I know that if u start with a level 1 character you should reach about level 11 or 12. I was wondering if I should start with a level 2 or even 3 character. If I do, will the game scale? Will I be able to reach level 13 or even 14? Should I even bother? I mainly ask b/c I enjoy playing a multi class elf M/T and I really want to add some levels of Arcane Archer as soon as possible.

    I'm sorry this is completely off topic, I am also about to begin with SOU, so can you continue with your character from the original campaign? I realize this might have been answered a 100 times before...

    Llandon - I was able to finish with a 13th (almost 14th) level character. If going with a wizard/rogue to reach Arcane Archer, you should concentrate on rogue more than wizard to get there the fastest. A wiz 2/rog 7 (or wiz 1/rog 8) is the earliest that you could get there. If you want to keep the wiz & rog levels about the same, you'll have to go to something like wiz 6/rog 4 or wiz 4/rog 6.

    I think that the game should scale to some extent, but remember, it is set up for 1-4 low level characters. Not having tried it, but knowing that it was designed to be used in multiplayer for up to 4 players, I'd guess that you could start with a second or third level char without taking all the fun out of it.
