Yes I am a newbie here, but not to D&D. I have been playing NWN for 3 years, Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2 since their release dates, and many other CRPG over the years.

Last year I finally decided to buy SoU and HotU after feeling cheated with NWN OC. I have to say that SoU had a way better story than the OC and Deekin, finally a NPC worthy of taking in NWN.

My character is a Drow male Monk who was level 14 by the end of the game. I didn’t find SoU hard expect for the battle I had with a Kobold Solider outside of Master Dorgan house. After I died, I reloaded the game and took Dorna with me and from there until I freed Deekin and than I became his Master. The last battle was a breeze and all the added feats and prestige classes could make the game very interesting.

So, after completing SoU I started HotU and played for about an hour; I find myself loosing interest in the game due to the higher level of play. I like low level adventures that have good stories and interesting NPC.

I am now looking for a FREE module where you start at level 1 and can work your way up to level 10-15 with good interaction with NPC and a good story. Is there a place where I download such a module?

Try looking at the Neverwinter Nights Vault at ign.com. They have hundreds of modules there. You can run searches based upon desired character level and quite a lot of other options.

    Thanks for that info...

Is there any you module you played that had an interesting story like SoU?

Give HotU some more time... it's exponentially better than the NWN OC and SoU. The story starts developing pretty soon and the NPC interaction is excellent throughout the expansion.

HotU is pretty cool, especially Deekin.

After posting here yesterday and thinking about the maximum damage build without special attacks got me thinking of building a new character. This character is going to be build around a maximum damage build, similar to the post in this forum, but he cannot have any buffing powers.

Please see the new post on Max Dmg Build without special attacks or buffs.

It has been a few years since I played any downloaded NWN modules - it was before the expansions. I found a few good ones at that time but I have long since deleted them and I don't remember their names. I gather that there have been a lot of advances in making modules since then.

I do agree with Taluntain and Harbourboy that HotU is pretty good. It is a little slow in getting started but I liked it more than SoU.

As mentioned previously, you want to visit the Neverwinter Vault, specifically the top rated modules listing:

    Top Rated NWN Modules

Just surf for a while looking at the various modules... the module lists the suggested levels. Some modules of note:

Twilight and Midnight Modules -- for paladins, start at 1st level.
the Hexcoda 01 -- starts at 10th level, but you only gain a few levels during the module (it's fairly short).
Shadowlord, Dreamcatcher, and Demon Campaign -- another series that starts you at 1st level.
A Dance with Rogues, Part 1 and 2 -- MATURE ONLY! You start as a 1st level rogue.
Tortured Hearts 1 -- Also starts as a 1st level character.
Darkness Over Daggerford -- start as an 8th level charcacter. This was a professionally done module (like the premium mods).

All the above modules only require NWN, SoU, and HoU (along with some mod based hak packs)-- there are many more excellent mods that also use the CEP.
