Can anyone tell me what weapon is effective against the Wise Wind? I have a Longsword +2 that did damage initially, but not now. I'm also cursed and level drained, which I don't seem to be able to cure. I had a huge flail +2 in my inventory, but that seems to have disappeared. I've tried the fireball necklace, acid flasks...you name it. No luck so far.

 

Well, I suppose it's meant to be hard fight. I had no problem, but I've stumbled over the holy avenger. I'd say you have to try until you bring the wind down. I can't imagine that there would be any weapon higher than a +2 necessary, because there are none (or I haven't found them). But in the vicinity (in the citiy-ruins) is a frostgiant belt and boots of speed, do you have them ? They would make the fight easier.

 

Got the frost giant belt, but not the boots of speed. Do have some other boots though. Never saw the holy avenger. It's frustrating, especially when he summons the elementals....and I'm not doing any damage to either one of them.

 

If I recall correctly, the wise wind was the one in the library that you get to trhough the book. If you play your cards correctly, you can have the arch-mage and the knight from the other book help you in the battle. That allows you to pretty much sit back and watch.

 

Big Stick, I have no idea what you're talking about. I am getting NOWHERE with this battle....even put it on "god mode"... absolutely nothing is working. I now have a greatsword +3...no effect. And, quite frankly, I'm fed up. A game like this is no longer fun if I have to spend 6 HOURS reloading trying to get past one battle. Back to my books.

 

U should try to pay attention to the info about the battle...
see why your attack isnt hurting him... he may be absorbing the damage and may be resisting the magics...

I guess Big Stick means, you can go back to the first book and try to hire them.

I know that the death wind had some kind of protection-field. I went back down, searching for a solution, went back up and the protection-field was no longer there, propably run out. Maybe you should ignore the wise wind for some time and look if anything changes.

 

Finally figured this thing out. BigStick, thanks for the hint...we went back to the library and rewrote the book. The knight and the mage helped out, though it still was difficult. There are also a couple of new walkthrough's on SP since the site update, one of which helped tremendously. Thanks everyone for your help!
