I've been madly in love with Spore ever since I first heard of it. I can't wait.

I wouldn't say I've been madly in love with it, but it's certainly been on my "looks very interesting" list since its announcement. TBH, if anyone but Will Wright was attempting this, it probably wouldn't gen enough support to get off the ground. But nobody backed his great idea of The Sims initially, and look what happened there...

    This will be something special.

Heh...that looks pretty sweet, I'm one of those people who find messing with the game engine more fun than the game itself after a while....when I first got NWN I fired up the Toolset after 5 minutes of the game :p

So to me this sounds extremely interesting, and I look forward to seeing more of it.

At the beginning of that Gamespy article I was going 'So what?' - by the end I was droolish ;)

That is a seriously awesome concept ... a shame I'll be waiting a long time to get it even after it's released (because who buys full price games?).

Plus it might not live up to the hype anyway...

I was drooling also, pools and pools :D
I will be buying it right away it comes, no matter how much the price is going to be. Really, such a simple concept, anyone can understand it, and still it looks so awesome.
Really, so many choices, so much to do, infinite ways to evolve, so much freedom! If this indeed does live up to the hype, it really is a potential choice for one of the best games of this decade.

    SimLife, anyone?

It does look like Spore will be a little more advanced than that, but I wouldn't call it an entirely original concept.

Well, SimLife didn't allow you any creativity at all ... and you didn't really do anything in it. SimLife isn't really the same concept, except in the vaguest sense - it wasn't trying to give you creative freedom.
