[IMG] Talking with Extremist a while back in the chat, he asked whether the Staff of Ram did "magic" damage (damage in the same way as the Ring of the Ram, that can't be protected against).

The staff has some +X damage modifier, is this added damage able to hit enemies no matter what protections they might have?

No, it does not have any added damage. All the damage you do with the Staff of Ram is added to one roll and if a taget has Stoneskin, it will not get through.

Howerver, if you roll to stun and knock back the enemy, it will go through the stoneskin.

[IMG] Ok, I don't have ToB as you know it, but Lokken generously sent both files for that staff so I can test them.

    Here is how it is:
The crushing damage will be rolled as it is stated in description and then applied to opponent if hit.

But if you hit an opponent in the moment when staff grants it's "unsonsciousness", the one who gets hit with it can't make save against it and falls down! Err, I forgot to check if magic resistance can save the creature - but that is irrelevant at this point.

    Bugs, bugs, everywhere

    Yeeees, Bioware=Bugoware again...
In the description for improved version of this staff (the enchanted +6 one) stays that
    Damage: 1D6 + 12 crushing, +1D4 piercing

Seems that Bugoware forgot what is written here, or they can't read - you do inflict crushing damage 1d6+12 with it, but there is NO additional piercing damage! So if you hit possible creature that is resistant to crushing damage with that Staff - it won't get even a scratch!?!?

Anyone available for assasination of Bugoware directors?
