[IMG] Does anyone know anything about this game? I went to the site, it looks pretty cool - as long as it's multiplayer. I can't imagine it being very fun alone.

What have you heard? Will this be just another in a long line of Star Wars related flops? (Sorry, I never got over Star Wars: Force Commander)

From what I understand, it is only multiplayer. Which means that I automatically have no interest in it (I don't have enough time to spend to get competitive in a MP environment, so my ass would end up getting whopped :( )

it looks a lot like Battlefield, only in SW surroundings, which sounds okay, but it's not something I'm particullery looking out fore, since I have BF and some mods for it

You could say this a Star Wars-themed BF1942 clone that was designed for consoles(X-Box I think) and PC. It will have classes, vehicles(AT-AT, etc.) and the usual.

On the plus side, they are adding some cool new stuff. I heard that on the Tatooine map there is a third force of AI-controlled Tusken raiders that will attack control points. Each online game is part of a sequence of maps. Each victory/loss can have an effect on the next one. If the rebels lose Endor, then the Imperials get a death star. Also, if the Imperials can hold Tatooine long enough, Darth Vader joins the fight.

I'm not liking the console aspect though....

Games that are put on consoles as well as PCs at time of release have a bad habit of horrible interfaces.

However, I don't see the point of putting FPS games on a console. The PC is simply THE FPS machine simply because of the mouse and keyboard setup.

    @ abomination

Yeah, I totally agree. The keyboard and mouse setup owns the competition. I feel the console/pc development is going to hurt the game and the makers are just being greedy. The console crowd is usually an easy sell.

Usually an easy sell? Compared to PC they are ALWAYS an easy sell. Not to mention PC games are far easier to pirate than console games.

Still, I might try it. Star Wars is Star Wars eh?

    It's basically Star Wars 1942.

It's pretty cool that you can have allies, for example, the Ewoks help the rebels on Endor and the Geonosians help the Confederacy on Geonosis.

I'm really excited about this game, I just hope it won't have some secret Jedi class or something.

Yeah, what was I saying with usually ?

The ewoks sound like fun. I can easily imagine having a lot of fun at a LAN party sniping ewoks.
