You know, almost every game comes with a attracting, starting computer graphics clip. The one for Neverwinter Nights, now that i am playing the game again recently, puzzles me. There is this ranger type character, walking though the woods, holding a bow and arrow with illuminating arrow head. Then he came to a, i suppose, temple ruin. Then a minotaur appeared. Then the two battled, then the ranger chop off one horn then some more fighting, the ranger killed the minotaur.

So here's my puzzling problem, what does this has to do with the game, to the very least the original Neverwinter Nights game? How does this opening clip connects with the overall picture? They just made a clip and put it infront? It is related to some dead stories or projects they started with but closed at the end and did not redo the opening clip? Why?

I believe that it is footage of Lord Nasher in his younger days. But I'm not sure if it is that easy to work that out (I only found out from someone here).

Maybe just a scene typical to the Silver Marches' frontiers? I really don't see any relation to the campaign. Then again, i ocasionally see items mentioned here, which i never found, so it's quite possible that i missed some areas or quests {most likely in chapter 3, where i ended up with obviously less experience than i was supposed to get}.

Also, i remeber fighting any minatour in the game, i remember the contruct minatour-like thingy and ... freezes you with its sound or something. Are there minatours in the tarvern undergound survival competition in chapter 2?

Yeah, i can't really see him as a ranger either. I bet there are stats on him somewhere, but my guess would be mostly a fighter. Anyway, the contest under the Green Griphon doesn't look anything like the forest in the clip; Nor does the jail in the Tower of the Arcane, which is the onyl other place i remmeber facing minotaurs in {except for Zor}.

Apparently, you can tell it is a young version of Lord Nasher by looking at the sword and the armour and comparing to what he wears in the game. Also, the face is more or less the same.

I just removed the movie and all the animations before the main menu from the game, so i dont have to look at atari logo everytime and pressing some button repeately. Saves time, and more importantly, doesnt get on my nerves everytime.

Second-hand knowledge for me, as well, but IIRC there were some links to that minotaur in the game, although I can't be sure. It doesn't seem to have much to do with Morag and the story.

BTW, IIRC Lord Nasher lost his wife and child at the hands of that minotaur before killing it, although I'm pretty sure this doesn't appear in the game... maybe in books in HotU but I don't remember.

Well, according to the Bioware site its him.

EDIT: Oh, spoiler alert, in case you wanted to work out the Nasher's Stuff quest on your own.

    http://nwn.bioware.com/underdark/nasher.html

Hover you pointer over Nasher's mug and there you have it.

Dont see why he has to be a ranger, though, just because he's in the woods and has a bow. Looks more like a barb or fighter in light-medium armour to me. Meh, anyway, no matter.

Which books are you referring to, Chevalier? I keep meaning to read some of the lit on the Forgotten Realms, and something about Neverwinter could be fun.
