    Right, for my exam tommorrow i was revising the lecture material (as you do). I came across part of a lecture on Sunspots, which i dont understand.

    The Lecture states that Sunspots are areas of he sun that are at 3700k instead of the usual 5700k. Sunspots increase and decrease on an 11 year cycle, which means that for 11 year Sunspot numbers and increasing and for the next 11, decreasing. This i can understand, but when te lecture then goes on to say at the peak of the cycle, where the most Sunspots are in occurence, the Solar output of the Sun is 0.1% MORE.

    This is confusing as i thought, with the sun being for the most part cooler, that it would be lettin out les Solar output. Can anyone explain this?

    The Sun is not for the most part cooler; sunspots are actually caused by increased solar activity. It is the magnetic pressure of these large magnetic fields that are generated that cause sunspots, as well as solar flares.
