It is actually better to install it BEFORE you end BG1. The new areas will be free accessable north of Baldurs gate.

If you complete BG1 you will just be summoned back from the end of level place. And you have to walk all the way outside again, and walk up north. Pretty frustating.

Indeed. You also can go to the map north of the map of the BG Bridge and then head north or west, tehre you will find some new areas. I also have to buy ToTSC and will install it before I finished with my Thief-only party. Thanks a lot!

Would it be better to complete TOTSC before going tt kill Sarevok or would the final battle be to easy!

iirc, you must first kill Sarevok before you are able to get to the other maps. I say the story of BG ends with Sarevoks death, kill him first, and then continue the adventures.

From what I remember you don't have to kill Sarevok first. As I recall I thought killing Sarevok was a breeze. Not because it really was easy, but because the TotSC end fight was so very hard that anything after that was a walk in the park.

My advice: It doesn't matter, do as you like.

    Spoilers inside!!!

The final battle get harder if TotSC is installed.

If you kill sarevok before installing TotSC then the battle will be wasted. when you install TotSC and load "Final save", You will be summoned outside his underground castle. And you have to walk all the way out of his underground dungeon to find the new areas. If you go in and kill him the game will end as always and you don't get to walk out and up north to the new areas.
