On life, death, heaven, hell, and the stuff between. Presented in poem and short story format.

    The Runner

    There was a man,
    who could run.

    Because he knew the secret,
his mind was truly greater than the
    body within.
For he had the control, the speed
    and precision
    Of moving the body
Of making the legs go round and round

    And thus, he could run!
    And the clouds would part
as this Runner would fly through the sky.
He could, and he should, and he would, and he did!
He was more than the runner
He was more than the stars
He was more than the clouds...
    He knew everything, Everything!
    Life was astound
as this man flew through the stars
    to join Heaven

    as his heart gave out.

All right, TBR, I didn't reply to your last poem, so I'll reply to this one.

Well, this probably isn't what you meant when you wrote this, Rose, but I interpret as that no one, via skill or good deeds can reach heaven. Heaven is eternal joy without sin. No good deeds on earth can amount to that, because one only has a limited time to do so much. Getting into heaven requires the consent of a higher being.

    "The Meeting"

I see you, my friend, all alone in the night.
You battle forever, you fight the good fight
Yet your soul is a struggle, between light and the dark,
I can help you my friend, set your life with a spark

but what is my joke, child-- what is my ploy?
I can make Death seem as fun as a toy.
you yourself carry anger, this much I can see
Is there someone alive that you'd rather not be?

your leader, my friend, the one from on High
the one who commands and sends you in to die
the one who will batter and torture your soul
Wouldn't you rather see him play the role?

I see it inside you, friend, inside your shell.
your outside's a heaven, your heart is a hell
I'm making an offer, from evil to good
make the world better. you know that you should.

so I'll give you a night to ponder this thought
don't listen to your head, friend-- think from your heart!
I'll give you the tools and the means of success
Bid Heaven goodbye and join me in my nest.

Hey, now that you're back, you're starting back poems again, huh?

    Well, they keeping getting better.

Your new poem is interesting... a jester, a carefree rogue trying to brighten the life of a knight/humble servant, almost to the point of mocking his creed.

C'Jakob, I intended it as Satan himself, meeting one of the Lord's Archangels.

    "A Fall From Grace"

I see you, foul creature, stalking the night
You're a being of evil, a bringer of fright.
My soul is firm, in allegiance and power
Any help that you offer won't touch me this hour.

You offer a fantasy, a myth, and a muse
Death is to be respected, not crafted and used!
The only anger inside me cries out for your ilk
You're a being of suffering, of foul works and filth.

My leader is strong, and a Lord of the just
He is to lead me, and command me he must
But now I can see it, it's burning inside
A hatred to rule and cast leaders aside.

I can see you, my friend, as a boon to the night
As one who knows Justice, and whose path is right
I'll listen, foul friend, to the offer you make
The gifts you shall give and the path I shall take.

For together, I'm sure, we will conquer all
The good and the evil will lie in Death's hall.
I will think and I'll ruminate over your deal
And tomorrow I'll join you, a partnership sealed.

Well, you added on another paragraph after I posted, so it's not fair. ;) :p
