Inspired by Arcanum, i have begun to think about which is greater, or more useful magick in an overall sense, or tehcnology in an overall sense. I am severly lacking in thoughts on the subject currently, since i have just begun to think on it, so let's hear what you guys think.

Both of them have usage. If you know how to use them, of course.

Your question is like comparing a ship and a car. If you know to drive them both - you use them both! But you can't say a car can be used on a water, nor you can drive ship over a highway.

Ok, there are exceptions to my example, but you got the point.

VEry Nice Azirath. You summoned the Only two interested in Arcanum. (why didnt You tell me about this post E? TO get a headstart :p)

Ok what is magic? can we define magic? no. Its imagination. So you can do what you want with magic. Hence making this discussion obsolete. But how about arcanum? It isnt released in DENMARK :(

Nah I can't wait to get my hands on it. Hopefully I can get around to it this week. Hopefully it will live up to it's wonderful hype.

What is magic? Arthur C. Clark once wrote "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic."

But in his fantasy compilation "Magic" or somehting like that Isaac Asimov rebutted that by saying that there was a key distinguishing feature. Technology will always be constrained by the laws of nature, wheras magic is only constrained by the imagination. Technology needs to be explained and justified within the framework of physics (eg. the superluminal spaceships in Star Trek are explained by saying the Warp drive folds space so they don't actually exceed the speed of light) and magic needs no such justification. Therefore magic is, and always will be more powerful than anything which Mistress Physics permits.

You are a nice backinggroup Ironbeard, when we agree on something that is :p

BTA's Point is merely that technology is so amazing that its almost a kind of magic, and he is true
