Okay, so I've always liked the world of Dark Sun, and now I finally got around to start writing a story. Well, here's the first part, so feel free to come with any criticism and other comments. I'll post the second part when i get the time to finish it.

A man walked down a street in the city-state of Tyr. He wore expensive clothes, carried a small bag, and he had a tough-looking bodyguard. Arek suspected the man was a merchant of some sort. The guard looked strong and experienced, but Arek knew how to handle that. He nimbly jumped to the roof of the next building. He then dropped a sack behind an old, withered bush down in an alley, and drew his obsidian dagger. Soon the man and his guard were beneath him, and he dropped himself off the roof. He landed softly between the man and his guard, and with a swift move of his hand he cut the guard’s arm. It was not a serious wound, but it distracted the guard. He then quickly grabbed the merchant’s bag.
He then shiftly ran to the abbey where he had dropped his robe, while the merchant yelled to the guard.
    - ”You idiot! Go get him!” He shouted.
    - ”Yes master!”
When he got to the alley, he knew it was only a matter of seconds before the guard would be there. He hid the bag behind the bush, and grabbed the sack he had dropped there. In the sack was an old, blue robe, wich he quickly put on. Then the guard came.
    - ”Where did the Elf go?” The guard asked.
    - ”He ran off to that direction”, he said and pointed towards the slums.
The guard ran to the direction he had pointed, and he started smiling. He was not an Elf, as the merchant and the guard had thought, but they were close. He was a half-elf, an offspring of a human and an elven parent. Arek had found that if he just wore elven clothes, people usually mistoke him for a fullblooded elf, and if he wore human clothes peole usually thought he was a human, unless they looked closer. Arek had quickly found a way to use this to his own advantage.
Arek picked up the bag he had stolen and looked in it. After counting a while he almost started laughing. 36 gold pieces, and a large Ruby! With this, he could buy food and water for months! Arek’s smile widened as he walked away, past the angry, unsuspecting merchant.

Really good, but who is this Arek? Where does he come from? Also you put abbey as alley the second time around.

    Sorry. I'm nit-picking again! :p
